چکیده

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with an increasing prevalence worldwide and characterized by increase in oxidative stress inflammation. The most important factor that responsible for production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) hyperglycemia. major targets ROS are proteins. common widely used biomarker severe protein damage carbonyl content. study was designed to assess the serum level as marker oxidation patients type 2 diabetes evaluate effect age, body weight, waist circumference, diabetic control duration on carbonyl. Subjects Methods: This case-control included 91 Eighty-five non-diabetic apparently healthy subjects matched both age sex cases were enrolled controls. Fasting blood samples collected after overnight fasting measure carbonyl, sugar, lipid profile, glycated hemoglobin. Results: significantly higher than controls positively correlated hemoglobin, participant well mass index circumference. Conclusion: associated term significant association those who had poor glycemic control, obesity, prolonged suggest content may be useful evaluating progression. Significant positive correlation together circumference individual central obesity more susceptible oxidation.

Association between the level of glycosylated hemoglobin and serum lipid profile in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by defect in insulin secretion and action resulting in hyperglycemia. Diabetic patients have deranged body metabolisms particularly for lipids which may result in abnormal levels of serum levels of lipids. Methods: The aim of this study is to find any possible correlation between the the glycosylated hemoglobin and the...
